At the entrance
to the harbour is Pendennis Head, which is home to the
English Heritage castle, the Ships and Castles leisure pool
and one of, if not, the most famous Coastguard stations in
the world.
Just along the coast from Falmouth are the beaches at
Swanpool and Maenporth and the beautiful Helford River, with
its lovely walks and two wonderful gardens - Trebah and
Glendurgan - which lead right down to the waterside. We
regularly walk this area and will gladly help you get the
best from a visit.
Wider
afield
Many of Cornwall's attractions are within an hour's drive
from the Rosemary. From the world renowned Eden Project and
Lost Gardens of Heligan to some maybe lesser known but
equally beautiful and interesting places. For example, the
area between Lands End and St. Ives with its tin mines set
in cliffs and the wild moorland behind or the huge expanse
of sand and Godrevy Lighthouse on the other side of the
Hayle Estuary from St Ives. Perhaps a total contrast, a ride
on the famous King Harry Ferry to the Roseland Peninsula or
set off in the other direction and visit Britain's most
southerly point at The Lizard.
We carry a large selection of local information, including
many detailed maps and walking books if you feel like
exploring the wonderful countryside or Coast Path on foot or
by car - we would be delighted to share our love of this
beautiful part of the world with you.
