Falmouth
and nearby
A short stroll in one direction from The Rosemary will take
you to the European Blue Flag Gyllyngvase Beach and South
West Coast Path. The other will find you at The Princess
Pavilion, which houses performances of plays and music for
all tastes as well as free Summer evening and Sunday
afternoon performances by local silver or brass bands and
choirs in the adjacent garden.
Falmouth town is also within easy walking distance, where
you will find a variety of shops and many galleries all
nestled within pretty streets which often offer surprising
glimpses of the harbour and docks. There is also a wealth of
restaurants (with virtually all types of cuisine), pubs and
bars many of whom serve locally caught, farmed or produced
food and drinks.
Falmouth is sited at the
entrance to one of the world's finest natural harbours, and
befitting to a town with such strong historical links to the
sea, Falmouth offers many opportunities to take to the
water. From daily ferries to St Mawes, Flushing or
Trelissick (a National Trust owned garden with wonderful
woodland walks) and the city of Truro to a cruise around the
coast and up the beautiful Helford river. Not to mention the
now well established National Maritime Museum which is only
5 minutes walk from the Rosemary.
